FAQ
What is CBD?
CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in hemp plants. It is commonly extracted and used as an oil for its medicinal properties. CBD is non-psychoactive, which means it will not cause a high when consumed – unlike THC, another famous cannabis compound usually associated with marijuana.
CBD is frequently used to combat an array of physical and mental ailments including insomnia, anxiety symptoms, stress, joint pain, inflammation, dry skin and concentration issues.
Is CBD legal?
CBD is a legal cannabinoid in the UK, and products infused with CBD are permissible as long as they contain less than 0.2% THC. All Vee Wellbeing products are legal in the UK.
Does CBD get you high?
Cannabidiol (CBD) will not get you high and is non-psychoactive. It is THC, not CBD, that creates the ‘high’ feeling people associate with cannabis use.
Is CBD addictive?
No, it is not addictive. Contrary to common belief, CBD is used by some individuals to help combat substance abuse disorders. CBD has been shown to have no potential for addiction or abuse. According to a recent report by WHO, the World Health Organisation, natural CBD is safe and well-received by humans, with no known health issues linked to the use of pure CBD. The report states, “Cannabidiol in its pure form does not seem to pose a risk of abuse or harm.”

The FSA recommends that you take no more than 70mg of CBD a day.
How should I take CBD?
For oil:
Place the CBD oil directly under the tongue and hold for 1 minute. Dropping the dose of CBD under your tongue before swallowing is the fast delivery of CBD. It will take 20-25 minutes to take effect on your endocannabinoid system. To start take 2 to 3 times a day. Create a consistent CBD routine by aiming to take your oil at the same time daily. Our graduated pipette makes for easy dosing, please see our Dosage Guide. The stronger the CBD oil the less you need to take for the same outcome.
For capsules and gummies:
Gummies contain 10mg per gummy, to be taken as and when required, chewed and eaten like a food it can take up to 30 minutes to take effect.
Our capsules are to be swallowed with water.
How Does CBD Work?
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is an intricate messenger and receptor system that is important to physical, emotional and mental functions. It is responsible for maintaining homeostasis, which is the natural balanced state of mind and body. From sleep and metabolism to mood and pain perception, it regulates numerous vital functions for maintaining health and wellness.
The ECS is highly complex and plays a role in several biological systems, including the circulatory, nervous, pulmonary, and endocrine systems. It is made up of three main components: receptors (CB1 and CB2), endocannabinoids (Anandamide and 2-AG), and enzymes (synthesising and degrading enzymes). These components work together to ensure that the body's physiological functions are in order. Cannabinoids like CBD have the ability to interact closely with ECS receptors, which can have a positive impact on physiological functions and improve a wide range of symptoms.
Will CBD Show Up On A Drugs Test?
No, you will not test positive for cannabis or any drug when drug tested. CBD is a legal compound found in hemp plants and must not be confused with the illegal cannabinoid THC that gets you ‘high’.
Can I Travel With CBD?
It is typically acceptable to carry CBD in Europe if it contains less than 0.2% THC and in the United States if it contains less than 0.3%. When traveling with CBD, it is advisable to have proof of THC levels, in case of any inquiries. Ensure you are aware of local regulations and comply with liquid transportation regulations and customs of the country you are visiting.
Is CBD Medicine?
CBD is not a medicine, it is classified as a Food Supplement in the UK and regulated by the Food Standards Agency. It should be taken as part of a varied diet and healthy lifestyle.
What is MCT Oil?
Derived from coconut oil, medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) are commonly used as the "carrier" oil in CBD-based tinctures and capsules. The MCT coconut oil plays a crucial role in ensuring effective absorption of CBD by the body.
What is Cold Pressed CBD oil?
Cold pressing is a mechanical process that uses high pressure to extract the oil from the hemp plant. This process does not use any heat or solvents, which helps to preserve the natural nutrients and cannabinoids in the oil.
Is CBD Suitable for vegans?
Yes. Vee Wellbeing products are all vegan.
